Leveraging the hand-carving skills of master mold artisans, the design captures everyday textures on the surface of the cup. It delicately reproduces—within the ceramic body itself—qualities of other materials that are typically considered impossible to convey through pottery. Great care was taken with the texture to ensure the cup feels pleasant and natural in the hand; intentionally, no glaze is applied to the exterior. Every step of the TraceFace production process is carried out by hand. The finish, which faithfully captures the raw character of the source materials, possesses a depth that invites one to imagine the story behind its creation.
